Emcesa joins FEDER in the fight for the rights of people with rare diseases

The company, one of Spain’s leading meat processors, joins the efforts of an association which speaks for over three million Spaniards.

The company is now part of FEDER’s network of supporting companies and institutions, which now number over 50.

“Their involvement and commitment are what keep the big FEDER family going,” says Association President Juan Carrión.

19 July – Emcesa, one of Spain’s leading meat processors, has joined efforts to support a cause affecting more than three million Spaniards: rare diseases. It will work with the Spanish Rare Disease Federation (FEDER) to improve the quality of life of people living with these maladies.

The company is now part of FEDER’s network of supporting companies and institutions, which now number over 50. Organisation President Juan Carrión acknowledged that “for us, it is really a pleasure to have the support of companies like this one, led by José Luís Blázquez Sierra, because their involvement and commitment are what keep the big FEDER family going.”

The founder of Emcesa responded that “when we contacted FEDER and they explained their projects and activities with so much passion and enthusiasm, we couldn’t say no to joining them and making this commitment. The values FEDER conveys are shared by the EMCESA philosophy: honesty, perseverance, enthusiasm and effort. For this reason we want to add our own modest contribution so FEDER can continue to grow and do its admirable work, which EMCESA will be proud to support.”

As a result, the “maximum quality” referred to in Emcesa’s mission statement will be put to use for the Federation’s current services and projects, with a total of 34 initiatives for people, associations, and society as a whole.

Emcesa and FEDER are beginning a journey together to raise the awareness, visibility, and stability of the comprehensive care services they provide for families. However, this partnership does have some history, as Carrión explains: “Emcesa has also supported FEDER’s Race for Hope in Madrid, now in its 7th year.”

About Emcesa

Emcesa was founded in 1986 by Tomás García Robledo and José Luis Blázquez García, and since then we have grown continuously. Our company has been shaped by our enthusiasm, innovation, reliability and professionalism, and is now one of Spain’s leading businesses. This growth led us to expand our premises. In 2006 we invested in the construction of a new factory in Casarrubios del Monte (Toledo), with a major expansion of the work area for producing, packaging and storing products, going from 4,800m2 to 22,400m2, with the most modern and innovative production technology on the market, and next-generation methods in quality, hygiene and the environment.

In 2001 we created the R&D Department to develop new products with the research and quality control systems that have always been a feature of our company.

Later, in 2009, we enlarged our facilities again, to over 25,000m2.

This strong growth was also reflected in our workforce, and we now have over 230 employees.
